Photo Album of our Tour
to the Holyland

This is a site on the Dead Sea called Qumran,
where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found by a Bedouin tribe member who tossed
a stone into cave # 4 above. Well, he heard not just a "clunk" but the
distinct sound of breaking pottery! He went up and investigated, and found
that his cast stone had broken a clay container containing these precious
scrolls. This was in 1947. These scrolls had every book in the Old Testament
of the Bible with the exception of the Book of Esther, proving that the
transcription of the Bible had been faithful for thousands of years! This
is a pan shot, so be sure to use the horizontal bar on your viewer to "scroll
horizontally"!
