Photo Album of our Tour to the Holyland

Photo 52

The largest olive tree in the Garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem. As a botanist I would estimate that this tree could be as old as 1,000-2,000 years, making it possibly one of the original trees in the garden where Jesus may have prayed  just before he was arrested.  I would estimate the diameter of the trunk of this olive tree to be at least 10 feet! It is a truly great site, one which I shall never forget.
