As I come to the end of my talk (and Internet discussion) I hope that you will reflect on James Michener's Life Cycle of Empires and think about your role as a science teacher on the future of our country. It is truly immense. You may not think so, but the facts are that science teachers lay the foundation for our future leaders in science and business. We have an inordinate responsibility.
