The Story

One of the most beautiful places in all of Sweden is this inlet near the village of Osterskar on the outskirts of Stockholm. This waterway is where the Vikings traveled to establish Gamla Uppsala thousands of years ago. I was lucky on April 20th when the sun was just setting. I captured the vertical rays of the sun just as it emerged from behind a beautiful lenticular set of clouds. A boat had just passed through and created unusual ripples which reflected in the sun's setting light. The thumbnail below is a very large image but one which will make a beautiful 8 x 10 inch print. Copy or download these for your personal use, but the photos are copyrighted. I want to thank Berit and Myat Htun for introducing me to Osterskar and so many other beautiful places in Sweden. I hope these images will show, in part, my utter amazement and respect for this beautiful place.
