THE STORY
    Ann and I truly enjoy the annual invitation to come to Pampa and participate in the Pampa Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony each fall. This year was no exception! In addition, the classes of 1956 and 1961 had their reunions. Thus, you will have the opportunity to see not only the Hall of Fame ceremonies but also festivities relating to these class reunions. Of special  interest was the presention of the beautiful life-like bronze statue of The Harvester in front of the school. This was the gift of the Class of 1956. Well done, Class! Class Vice President Ted Swindle presided over the ceremony. I had not seen Ted for at least  40 years! Well, you have not changed, Ted!   It was so good to see so many friends. I missed my 40th reunion of my Class of 1957 because I was in Japan at the time. Well, next time, I will be there!

Anyway, not only will you find the Hall of Fame Induction (for Sylvia Grider and Bob Jernigan) but also the reception, the football game, the statue unveiling, and last but not least, a once-in-a-lifetime chance to visit the Gething ranch east of Pampa. How beautiful it was this time of the year! Thank you, Bill and Grace! Oh yes, when we were getting ready to drive back to Pampa later in the evening, we saw the magnificent Milky Way Galaxy as I have never seen it before, from the high plains deep in the darkness on the Gething ranch.
