These giant African bananas will grow to a spectacular height of 25 feet in one year; however, the frost usually brings them to ground level for a new startup. This year, as of December 17, 1998, we still have not had freezing weather. This path takes one to the middle and lower paths. Abundant Tradescantia from Jean Stone provides a spectular shade plant under the lanai and in areas where nothing else grows well.
