The Famous
Music School of Aspen
The Story
James Levine
of the Metropolitan Opera received his early training at the Aspen School
of Music. In fact, several years ago, we saw him conduct the Aspen School
Orchestra in the old tent just before it was to be dismantled for the new
one. A storm suddenly blew up with thunder and lightening during
the concert, and water fell on my program from a hole in the tent! This
was a beautiful experience to add to the fine music! We lived on Hopkins
Street, a short hike to the Music School over a beautiful bridge. Follow
these photos to the dorms and then take a short trip through the music
school. Note that BEARS frequent the practice rooms so everyone is urged
not to leave any food in them! This is the life, yes! By the way, I think
that Kapil will eventually come to the Music School one summer to play
his trumpet! Enjoy!
