A streuous hike to Crater Lake
at Maroon Bells
The Story
Each time I
go to Aspen in the summer, it is virtually mandatory that we make the strenuous
hike from Maroon Lake up to Crater Lake. Across boulder and rock-strewn
avalanche fields we traveled. Up and up and, we seemed to think that we
would never arrive! However, when we reached Crater Lake, it was so beautiful!
Our time there was short as it was about to rain, so we grabbed a quick
lunch and fed the chipmunks, then headed back. Barbara, Richard, and I
