Below on this and the next 3 pages you will find some really exciting thumbnails of photos taken on my trip to Pampa, Texas in late September, 2000 where I attended the Pampa High School Hall of Fame Ceremonies. Before that, I went to a reception held in the library of PHS. Then I looked around town and there are some "cool shots" especially on the drive from the Amarillo airport to Pampa. For example, the first shot on this page is Palo Duro Canyon from the Southwest Airlines plane, then the famous water towers where the Amarillo AFB was located. Then there are scenes of the highway and White Deer and familiar sights driving into Pampa. Immediately I went to the White Deer Land Museum where I met Anne Davidson, Director, then I took a look at downtown Pampa, going into such familiar places as the Combs-Worley Building, the barber shop, and the old elevator and inner hall. Then to Heard-Jones Drug Store for a vanilla malt and hamburger and a nice chat with Bill Hite. I then visited our old homes at 1108 Charles Street and 1026 Christine Street. Still the same after all these years! I hope you will enjoy these photos. They are nostalgic reminders of a great place for so many. Imbibe! I will describe highlights on each of the 4 pages. I have tried to keep the number of thumbnails minimized and using low resolution on the thumbnails so that they will download rapidly. The actual photos are around 100-150k but I want you to take advantage of this high resolution. All were taken on my Olympus C-2000z Digital Camera. I would appreciate any comments you might have.
